The Maze Runner Book #1 Book Review

Hey everyone today I am doing a book review on the first book of the Maze Runner.

Summary: 

Thomas is thrown into a new place called The Glade with his memory wiped clean. He can't escape because there is a huge maze with monsters called Grievers and no one can find a way out because the walls of the maze change all the time. Thomas becomes somewhat of a friend to Chuck while the other boys are not so sure of him. Thomas gets attack by a boy who is going through the change by getting stung by a Griever. Thomas decides that he wants to become a runner which a runner is who goes into the maze to find a way out. All of the sudden the game changes when a girl is thrown into the colony.... There is suppose to be only be guys in the Glade. The routine was that they get one new person a month but she was sent 2 days after Thomas arrived. She came with a warning that she is the last person ever to enter the Glade. A Griever died in the maze so Minho and Alby went to get it to see how it died. Alby got attacked and Minho couldn't get to the doors before they close at night so Thomas ran in after them and the doors closed behind him. Minho leaves Thomas and Alby to defend for themselves and Thomas comes face to face with a Griever for the first time. Thomas uses vines to his advantage to redirect the Griever to him instead of Alby. Thomas manages to get away from one then four come after him and Minho finds him and grabs him. Thomas and Minho survive the night which has never been done before. They go back to the Glade and everyone is not happy with Thomas. There is a certain order that takes place in the Glade and everyone has jobs. Thomas disobeys so the council decides his fate, Thomas has to spend one day in jail but gets elected as a runner. Alby goes through the changing from being stung which brings back memories from his life before the Glade. Alby remembers Thomas before being put in the Glade. The girl that arrived had been in a coma but for some reason can talk to Thomas in his head. Her name is Teresa and she told him that it has to end. She also said "We did this to them, to us." Thomas starts training as a runner. The girl spoke in Thomas head again and she said that she just triggered the end then she wakes up from the coma. The Gladers are in trouble..... No Sun, No Supplies and No protection from the Grievers. Everyone is trap in the homestead while the Grievers invade. Thomas and Teresa figure out that the maze is a code, The maps that the runners collect spells out letters. The map code was "Float, Catch, Bleed, Death, Stiff and Push." Thomas got stung by a Griever so he could have memories of his life before being put in the Glade. The maze was actually a test to see who is strong enough to survive. A gathering was called by Thomas so he could talk about what he saw in his memories. Thomas tells the group that him and Teresa were part of the maze trials from the very beginning against their will. They help design the maze with the creators called WICKED. WICKED mission is to serve and preserve humanity no matter the cost. Thomas told them that the only way out is to go back into the maze and find the cliff. They have to go over the cliff and find a computer so they can enter the code to find a way out. 41 Gladers enter the maze and the Grievers are waiting for them..... Battle Begins...... 21 out of 41 survive and they come face to face with the creators. Gally was with the creators. Gally threw a knife at Thomas but Chuck throws himself in front of him and Chuck dies!!! A group of people come to rescue the Gladers and they explain to them that the outside world was burned and a plague kills millions. The maze trials tested who can survive and help beat The Flare. The group settles into a new place where they hope is safer than the Glade. All they can do is have some hope.....


My Thoughts:

The beginning of the book is a bit slow and the language is hard to understand because they use words like Shuck, Shank, Greenie, etc. It starts to pick up when Teresa enters and she triggers the end of the maze trials. I love this book because it is so different than what I usually read. It is filled with a lot of action and mystery. I was the most upset when Chuck died because I loved his character and his friendship with Thomas. The next book is called The Scorch Trials so I am curious to know what happens not only to Thomas but what happens with the rest of the Gladers that survived.

Pretty Little Liars #6 Killer Book Review

Hey everyone!
Today I have a book review for Pretty Little Liars #6 book called Killer. It took me about a month to finish it because I really only read on the days that Chloe is with her dad.

Summary: The girls were at the Charity event at Spencer house I think when they see Ian dead in the woods that is behind Spencer house. The police didn't believe them and people were starting to suspect that the police were covering something up. Wilden was acting weird throughout the whole book. Of course A is back and A has been sending pictures of Alison to the girls so they can figure out what doesn't belong in the pictures. It even showed Wilden going to church to probably confess his sins. Hanna and Kate have to be together at all times so that Hanna can become friends with Kate. In the process Hanna starts to date Mike but is not so happy when Mike goes on dates with Kate as well. Eventually Hanna wins over Mike and they start to date. So the girls don't know whether Ian is dead or alive until Ian sends Melissa a IM message and Spencer sees it. Ian is alive and hiding. So Aria starts to have feelings for Jason and they start to hang out. It's going good till Aria shows him a invitation of a institution being turned into a hotel which used to be called Radley. Anyways Jason gets super angry at Aria but Aria finds out that Wilden and Jason know each other because she saw his yearbook from High School. Now Emily is dating Issac which his mother hates Emily and at first Issac didn't believe Emily until he found a picture of him and Emily but Emily head was cut out of the picture. Spencer is having trouble with her family because they take away her car and money. Spencer and Andrew do some research and find out that Spencer might be adopted. Spencer finds a site where they found her real mom and Spencer meets her in New York. Spencer and her real mom hit it off and have a real connection.... Spencer wants to move to New York but Andrew doesn't think it's a good idea and gets upset with her. Spencer gives money to a agent to buy a apartment in New York but Spencer find out that her so called real mom and the agent con her out of all her money. Spencer is upset because she thought she finally found someone who actually loved her and wanted to be a family with her. Anyways the girls go to a Party at the new Radley Hotel..... Emily finds a register book in one of the rooms and finds out it was everyone who visited the Radley institution for the mentally insane. Emily finds Jason name on the list. So Jason visited a mental institution?!? Anyways the girls find out that Aria kept Alison flag that was stolen back in Middle School and they go get Aria to get the flag to see it while the girls go check on Spencer because she didn't show up and they got a text from A. Hanna and Emily go check on Spencer when the barn catches on fire!!! The girls got out okay and Aria catches up with them in the woods. At the end the girls see someone on the ground sitting down with her hands in her face and they are shocked at what they see.... The girl has blonde hair. The girls think it's Alison but they are not sure if they are hallucinating because of the smoke they are smelling. 

My Thoughts: So everyone knows that the book and show are totally different so it does take me some time to get used to the books since I am a big fan of the show. I think in next book is where the girls will meet Alison twin which I am very interested in seeing how that plays out and how the girls will react to her.

Book Review: Vampire Academy+Frost Bite (Book #1 and #2)

Hey everyone! I have another book review for ya'll and this time it's about Vampire Academy! I read book #1 and book #2 so I thought I would combine them to do a book review on both.

Vampire Academy Book Series #1 (Vampire Academy):

Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess who lost her family in a car accident.... Only her and her best friend Rose Hathaway survived. Lissa is a princess who is also a vampire and must be protected at all times. Lissa hasn't got any of her powers yet until she found out that she is a Spirit User she can use compulsion and healing powers. Rose Hathaway is Lissa best friend and also her soon to be Guardian. Rose is a Dhampir who trains at St. Vladimir's to become a Guardian but what others don't know is that Rose and Lissa share a bond where Rose can get into Lissa head and see what Lissa is doing and how she feels but Lissa can't do it to Rose. This bond seemed to happen right after the car accident because Lissa saved Rose life by healing Rose. Rose and Lissa escaped from the Academy and stay on the run for two years till Dimitri came and brought them back. Rose was a rebelious girl but under Dimitri wing she became someone else but she also fell in love with Dimitri who was 7 years older than her. Now you heard about Moroi who are royal vampires and Dhampir who are human and Vampire mix who are becoming Guardians but now about Strigoi who are dead vampires who are dangerous and willing to kill anyone. Victor Dashkov is Natalie father but also a close friend of the Dragomir family. He comes to the Academy when he finds out Lissa has return.... Soon we find out he has a disease that slowly kills him and he needs Lissa to heal him. He finds out that Lissa can heal animals and humans but it mentally and physically drains her causing her to cut her self from the stress and depression. Christian Ozera is a anti social teen who parents were turned into Strigoi and killed. Lissa starts falling for Christian which Rose doesn't approve of. Lissa is kidnap by Victor and Rose needs to find her through the bond and save her.

Vampire Academy Book Series #2 (Frost Bite):

Everything seemed to go back to normal with Victor in custody and Lissa taking medication to help with her depression but the only thing is it stops her from using the magic of Spirit. Lissa and Christian are now a couple and Rose still is in love with her mentor Dimitri. Since Rose is behind on training she had to take extra practices with Dimitri and also take a very important test.... Dimitri and Rose went to a cabin where she is suppose to take her test but when they arrived blood was everywhere and the royal family Badicas were dead..... The strigoi had help from humans?!? which is very rare. The Guardians came together and decided to figure out what to do, they came up with a plan to take all the students and families to a royal ski lodge where there will be plenty of security and protection there. A meeting was held there to discuss what should be done.... Two main points were held, one point was all the Guardians should find the Strigoi and attack them first another point was the novices who are Guardians in training should graduate early so there will be more Guardians to protect the royal Moroi families. At the ski lodge Rose still had feelings for Dimitri but when she found out that Tasha who is Christian Aunt might be having feelings for Dimitri, Rose got jealous and decided to use Mason as her boyfriend.... Soon Rose knew that was a mistake. What was surprising was that Rose mom showed up! Rose had mix feelings of hurt and anger for her mom for abandoning her. Dimitri told Rose that he found out where the Strigoi were at and Rose was not suppose to tell anyone but her anger and jealousy got the best of her and she told Mason. With all the crazy going on Rose and Lissa wasn't talking much and Rose also got jealous of that. Adrian we find out is a Spirit user because he can feel auroras around people and can also be in people's dreams. Rose kept getting into trouble for hanging around him. One day Rose discovered that Mason, Eddie and Mia decided to leave the ski lodge and find the Strigoi and kill them. Rose found Christian and ask for his help to find them before the Strigoi kill them. Rose got lucky and found them but humans found them and kidnap them. The humans held them inside a basement of a house and the leader was Strigoi!! Days past and they were still held captive by the Strigoi..... Mia and Christian were getting weak without blood but the leader wanted them to kill either Mason, Rose, or Eddie but they couldn't. Soon Rose came up with a plan for Christian to melt the cuffs and help them escape. Eventually Mason led the others out and Rose was on her own to fight the two Strigoi. Mason came back to help Rose but ended up getting killed by a Strigoi. Mia also came back to help and used her water power to blow up the aquarium which did help Rose. Rose ended up using a sword to kill the leader and the girl Strigoi named Elena. Of course Dimitri came to the rescue and got Rose out of there. Rose was in shock because she couldn't believe Mason was dead.... At the end of this book Rose ended up getting two Molnija marks for killing two Strigoi. Dimitri denied Tasha of becoming her Guardian and He kissed Rose!

* I love this series I can't wait to get the third book and find out what happens next!*

Book Review: Hunger Games MockingJay #3

Hey everyone! I finally finished the Hunger Games Series so I decided to do a book review on the last book in the Hunger Games Series. This book is pretty intense and sad to see it end, I can't wait till the movie comes out!

So as we found out in the second book that district 12 is gone and everyone who survived went to district 13. Personally I feel that district 13 is just as strict as the capitol because each person has a daily schedule printed on their arm, have the same clothing, and there are food restrictions. The President for district 13 is Coin. When Katniss awakes from all the medicine she finds out the Peeta is being held captive by the capitol and is most likely being tortured. Katniss is made out to be the Mocking Jay leader but she has a few goals she wants district 13 to accept which is keeping Prim's cat, Hunting, Save the victors don't kill them, Gale by her side, and She wants to kill Snow. Katniss is put in front of the media to tell every district that she is alive and that she is fighting to end the capitol reign over them. War breaks out between capitol and district 13. Peeta is brought back to 13 and is nothing like his self, he was mind was brainwashed to hate and kill Katniss. The victors are brought to the capitol to end the war and people end up dying including Finnick and Prim!!! At the end President Snow is captured and Katniss is suppose to kill him but ended up killing President Coin because Coin wanted another Hunger Games. President Snow ends up dying anyways and a new President is picked which is Paylor. At very end of book the Hunger Games are ended, District 12 is being reconstructed, Gale gets a new fancy job and Katniss and Peeta end up together with two children.

This book was very intense because it was very detail on the war. It was also sad in the end when Katniss sister died.

This last book was very hard for Katniss as she struggled with her emotions for Peeta and being the Leader of the rebels. Katniss finds her way and becomes a leader and ends the war.

Find what makes you happy and Stay Strong........ Fight for what you believe in.

Book Review: Hunger Games Catching Fire #2

What would you do if you were thrown into the hunger games? Would you kill someone to survive?

I finally have finished the second book in the Hunger Games called Catching Fire. I can't remember the last time I did a book review but I am back into reading again so I will be doing more book reviews. I usually read at night after Chloe goes to sleep because I have trouble sleeping anyways. I am currently reading the last book in the Hunger Games Series.

I love the hunger game series! Katniss is brave and strong willed, I don't think I could do what she did to save her family and Peeta. She knew that the right thing to do was to fight and do the right thing.

In this book there is a love triangle between Katniss, Peeta and Gale. Who would you pick if you were Katniss?

Katniss and Peeta thought they are done with the games but are shocked when President Snow announces the Quarter Quell and they are thrown back into the arena and fighting for their lives. Both make a deal with Haymitch... Katniss wants Peeta to be saved and Peeta wants Katniss to be saved. Before they are back in the games the district is over run by capitol troops and Gale is punished for his actions. President Snow threatens Katniss if she doesn't keep up with the romance with Peeta he will take action against her. In the games Katniss and Peeta team up with Finnick and Mags. Mags ends up dying in a poisonous fog.... Later Finnick saves Peeta life and Katniss can't figure out why. Soon they team up with Johanna, Beete and Wiress. They start to figure out that the arena is a big clock with different horrors at each hour like Poisonous fog, Monkeys, blood rain, and Jabberjays that repeat the sounds of their love ones screaming in horror, etc. Wiress figures it out first then Katniss puts the pieces together and warns the others. Beete comes up with a plan to kill off the other victors by using his wire as a electric shock to kill them but his plan doesn't work as he wanted it too. Katniss starts to freak out but then she remembers what Haymitch told her "Remember who the real enemy is" and Katniss puts a arrow into the force field causing it to shatter. Later when Katniss wakes up she finds out that Peeta is being held in capitol, District 12 is destroyed and District 13 is alive and running. 

How do you feel about District 13? Do you think Katniss will get Peeta back and that everything will be okay?

Sneak Peek into book #3: District 13 is very strict. Katniss is being used as a solider and they are waging war against the capitol.

Nicholas Sparks is one of my all time favorite Authors. I love his books so I decided to pick this up to see if I would like it. I just think his work is amazing.

This is another series that I been meaning to pick up in a while. I heard great reviews and I am excited to start reading into this series.















6. Get Positively Beautiful

I love Carmindy on What not to Wear so I wanted to read this book and see what tips I would like from her. I love how she goes into detail and explains things in a easy way.

Of course ya'll should know by now that I love Pretty Little Liars! This is the book that I am currently on.

December Amazon Kindle Book Haul 2013

Hey everyone, things have been pretty stressful lately with me and Chloe getting sick then with personal issues but I decided today to do a book haul. My friend Kara for Christmas gave me a $25 Amazon gift card so I bought some books for my Kindle. Here is what I bought:

This is the last book in this series! I am reading Catching Fire now.

I been watching the Gossip Girl series on Netflix and I am addicted so I decided to try reading the book series.

I loved the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer so I decided to give this book a try and see if I like it. I haven't seen the movie yet but I added it to my list on Netflix.

I heard this book is really good and that the movie was good as well so I decided to finally get this book.
