Happy Birthday to Me! 21 years old...

Hey today I am 21 years old. The first person I saw today was my daughter and that is the best gift I can ever have. I usually don't care for my birthday but today I am going to try and stay positive. I just need to enjoy this day. Right now I am watching Cone Heads and soon I am going to get ready to go over my friends house to watch movies and have dinner. I might drink but I am not sure yet I am really not that big on alcohol. Chloe today is with her grandparents at a baseball game.

Update: Life

Hey everyone today I am doing a update on my life and how I been adjusting to being a mom.

As ya'll may know by now I had my daughter almost 2 months ago via C-section on March 10. I named her Chloe Ann and she was 6 pounds 7 ounces. Her father couldn't come down for her birth because he was still in Hawaii and that really upset me, I just wanted him to bond with her. We do use video chat and talk on the phone when we can but there is a 4/5 hour time difference which makes things very hard for us sometimes to communicate.

I still live with my parents and I will probably do so till me and Josh get married and move in together which will probably be in 2014 because I am still waiting to finish College. Me and Josh are getting married at the end of this year in December. I currently right now don't have a job so I guess you can say right now I am a Stay At Home Mom. Josh does support us very much but I never really like asking for money because that's just who I am but he always calls it my money when he sends us money. I always use it mostly on baby supplies and groceries.

As for my college situation right now I am taking a semester off to bond with Chloe I will start back in August of this year. I have about 9 classes left in my associates degree and I plan on graduating at the end of 2014. My degree is still Child Development. I will do a update on College in July as soon as I know what classes I am taking.

So far I been doing good with adjusting to mother hood. At first it was hard because Chloe bonded more with my mom than me and she would cry all the time when I had her. It took about 2 weeks for Chloe to finally get a bond with me and now we are attach to each other. Chloe does co-sleep with me in the bed and that seems to work for the both of us and she loves it.

Young Moms YOUnite: Postpartum Depression (April 2013 Topic)

Hey everyone so as you may have seen from the title is that I am going to talk about Postpartum Depression and my experience. First Young Moms YOUnite is from YouTube, it was a group that was started so that young moms can come together and share their experiences and thoughts. They upload a new topic every month for us moms to discuss and share our views. This month the topic is all about Postpartum Depression.

Please check out these channels if you want to get started or if you want to follow the creators:

4. LindsandBaby

Disclaimer: I am 21 years old and I have a 1 month old daughter. These are just my views. Everyone has different views and opinions about this topic. This topic should be taken very seriously.

What is Postpartum Depression?

You can also call this a short name by (PPD). This is a clinical depression that affect mostly women but some men can get it too. This depression happens mostly after the child is born and can occur as early after the child is born or can come around a month or two after the baby is born.

Symptoms:

* Sadness
* Low Self-Esteem
* Guilt
* Exhaustion
* Eating habits change
* Social Withdrawal
* Low or No Energy
* Not being able to take care of your Baby
* Mood Swings
* Decreased Sex Drive

Some women may not get all the symptoms, women experience this depression not the same as others. Remember that YOU are not alone.

My Recent Experience on PPD

I had my first child on March 10, 2013 and now my baby girl is a little over a month old. When she was first born I had a lot of mood changes like from being angry to being upset. I never took it out on my daughter and it wasn't really her fault why I had the depression. My symptoms that I have now are: Low Self-Esteem, Insomnia, Different Eating Habits, Low Energy and Mood Swings. I think why I have this is because I don't have my fiance here with me, he is in the marines stationed in Hawaii. He hasn't been able to come down and see his daughter and that really upsets me all the time. We can't move in yet because I am still in college and some days I really think about quitting college and just moving with him. But then I look at my daughter and realize that I want to set a good example for her. As for my low self-esteem I really had that ever since I was  in middle school but after pregnancy I am just not happy with my body. Before I was pregnant I weighed 98 pounds and now I weigh 112 I know that's not a big deal to some people but growing up I was bullied a lot because of the way I look and now I just have this mind thing where I can't be fat. I am in no way saying you should lose weight if you are fat this is just how I see my self. I am trying to be comfortable in my own skin. After having Chloe I have a really hard time eating where most days I only eat 1 or 2 meals, sometimes I feel like I can starve my self. I am learning that it will take me some time to be happy in my own skin and that I need to start eating more healthy. Lately my moods have been more where either I will cry for no reason or I get in a very bad mood. Again I do still take care of my daughter but remember that some women have a difficultly taking care of their baby after it's born. We can't or shouldn't judge them because we don't know what they been through. Every person is different and deals with depression different. I deal with my depression by either watching my favorite shows, typing in my blog or getting out on the weekends just for a couple of hours.

YOU are not alone

It is OKAY to seek help

It is IMPORTANT to take care of your self

DON'T let Depression control your life

Treatment:

* Medical evaluation to rule out other mental problems
* Medicine
* Support groups
* Healthy Diet
* Plenty of sleep
* Let people help you take care of the baby
* Treat your self

Chloe is 1 Month Old: Update

Hey so Chloe is 1 Month old!! I can't believe how fast this month had went by for me and her. So today I am doing her 1 month update and going to talk about how she has been this past month.

Chloe Ann was born on March 10th, 2013 via C-section and she weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces. Chloe was 19 inches long. At her 2 week check-up, Chloe weighed 7 pounds and 4 ounces also she was 19 1/2 inches long.

Feeding: Chloe started out on Similac Advance but we had to switch her formula to Similac Sensitive because Chloe spit up a lot and she was very gassy. Since changing her milk, Chloe has been less spitting up and her stomach seems to like this formula better. We give Chloe evenflo 4oz bottles and she usually drinks 3 ounces every 3 hours. During the night Chloe only wakes me up twice during the night to feed.

Chloe is more alert and loves to stay awake for longer times now :)

Clothing and Diapers: Newborn clothes on Chloe are to big for her still. It's hard to find clothes that fit her good. Chloe is still in Size Newborn diapers for right now but she will be moving up very soon! I use Pampers Swaddler diapers just in case you were wondering.

Chloe umbilical cord came off around 3 weeks!

Bath Time: Chloe loves bath time she doesn't cry when we give her a bath. She loves to make faces when we put water on her body.

Chloe loves to pull mommy hair and loves to chew on my fingers every chance she gets....

Car Rides: When we put her in the carseat at first she is fussy but once we start driving she usually goes straight to sleep.

Milestones and Random:

* Chloe can turn her head sideways and lift her head up
* Chloe doesn't like tummy time
* She loves to kick her legs
* She is starting to making noise like she wants to talk to you
* She stares at people faces and gives eye contact
* She loves to try and sit up with my help of course
* Has a very strong grip
* Very gassy all the time
* Loves to lay on mommy lap
* She does take the pacifier when she wants to but not all the time
* Has already worn out her bottle nipples
* Doesn't like cover on her she kicks it off

Chloe does Co-Sleep with me. She hates the crib but I will transition her to the crib when I start college in the fall this year.

1 Month Health/Postpartum Update

Hey everyone so I am now 1 month postpartum and I decided today I would do a update on how this last month went for me. I will do a 1 month update on Chloe but I am doing hers separate from mine. This post is all about me and how my health has been lately.

Okay so on March 10th, 2013 I had my C-section where I had gave birth to my daughter Chloe. I can honestly say the first week after the C-section was the worst! I was at the point where I didn't even wanna try to walk around, all I wanted to do was stay in bed. Day by day though I got up and walked more and more just so it can become easier. My mom had vacation leave so she was there to help me with Chloe. After the C-section I already went down to the weight that I was almost at before I had gotten pregnant.

When I came home from the hospital I had a horrible cough that it hurt my C-section incision. I hated to cough and soon it gotten worse to where I couldn't breathe that good and on top of that I started to have a fever that wouldn't go away. Of course after my C-section my doctor did prescribe me pain medicine that did help with the pain of my C-section. I ended up having to go to the ER because I couldn't breathe. Once there they did blood work and stuff to find out that I had bronchitis and my liver enzymes were high because of the pain medicine I was prescribe to take after my C-section. So they ended up having to change my pain medicine and give me antibiotics.

It took till about the 3rd week for me to start feeling better and where I was up walking around a lot. My incision barely hurts me now. I had my 2 week postpartum check up with my doctor and he prescribed me medicine for my back because I been having horrible back pain since my C-section. It's mostly muscle spasms.

Now this is the 4th week postpartum and I am feeling much better. My incision barely hurts, my cough is gone and my back is hurting me less.

Last thing I wanted to mention is that I do have a little bit of Postpartum Depression. Some days are worse than others. My doctor said he can prescribe me something but I told him I wanted to wait till my 6 week postpartum check up to see if it gotten better.

My 6 week postpartum check up is April 26.

Baby Haul #3

Hey everyone here is another baby haul that I would like to share with ya'll. This is not a bragging post in anyway, it's just to share what I buy for my daughter.

I bought Wee Disposable Changing Mats, I don't have a changing table so I put these down on my bed before I change Chloe. Next I bought 2 Hampers one for my clothes and one for Chloe clothes for when they are dirty. It's easier for me to keep them separate and organized. Another is Johnsons Bath Wash Soothing Vapor because Chloe has been really congested lately and this was recommended by a friend. Last I bought Boogie Wipes to clean my daughter nose with, it has saline in it too.

So This is what I bought at the drug store for my daughter. If you want reviews on any of these products just let me know.

Reviews I'm doing this Month:
* Arm & Hamper Diaper Pail
* Little Remedies Gas Drops

Bottle Feeding Chloe Update: 1 Month

Hey so Chloe will be a Month old on the 10th so I decided to go ahead and put this up. This is a update on how Chloe is doing with being bottle fed. Now you should check out the 2 week update first because that explains why I choose bottle feeding and how she was doing with Similac Advance.

Chloe started out on the Similac Advance which I think most babies do when they are born. We changed her milk formula now to the Similac Sensitive and she seems to be doing much better. We had to switch her milk because she was spitting up a lot every time I fed her and she was really gassy. She had a doctor appointment at 2 weeks and the doctor said it was okay for us to change her milk.

She has been on this formula for about 2 weeks now and she is doing a lot better. Chloe spits up less but she  is still very gassy. I went to the drug store and found her Little Remedies for Tummy's Gas drops. It's the Gripe Water with Ginger and Fennel. I am soon doing a review on it so look out for that soon! I did a first impression on it if you want to check that out. I been giving this to her for about a week now and she seems to like it but she is still very gassy. I am gonna give her about another week or so on it to see if it helps her if not I might need to talk to her doctor about it.

Chloe drinks about 2 to 3 ounces every 2 to 3 hours. Sometimes she will go for about 4 hours but it depends how hungry she is. Chloe does really good at night because she only wakes me up about 2 times during the night for a feeding. Usually it's around 1:30am and then again around 4am. At her 2 week appointment she weighed about 7 pounds and 4 ounces so now she should be close to 8 pounds.

So this is just a update on how Chloe is doing with being bottle fed....

Baby Haul #2

Hey everyone today I went to pick up a few baby supplies for my daughter. I still can't believe she is almost a month old!!!

The diapers that I always get are the Pampers Swaddlers, these are the best brand that I found so far if you have any recommendations let me know. I also picked up a pack of Pampers Sensitive wipes. Next I got some nipples because Chloe wore out the old ones and so I picked up a few. Last is Simply Saline for Baby nasal moisturizer because Chloe is really congested.

Little Remedies Gripe Water: First Impression

Hey everyone!
Today I bought Chloe some Little Remedies for Tummys Gripe Water because Chloe is really gassy and she is still spitting up a lot. I am thinking that her stomach is upset so that's why I wanted to try this out and see if it will work for her.

Description:

It's a herbal supplement with ginger and fennel. It's safe, gentle relief of stomach discomfort and gas from colic and hiccups. Also it is Paraben, Gluten and Alcohol free. Ginger and Fennel shown to be beneficial as an aid to digestion. Make sure you shake well before use. May be given up to 6 times in a 24 hour period.

Suggested Use:

Babies 2 weeks up to 4 weeks of age- 1/2 tsp.
Infants 1 to 6 months of age- 1 tsp.
Children 6 months and older- 2 tsp.

I started using this product today and Chloe seems to like it because she didn't fuss when I was giving her this. It says you can use this product 6 times in a 24 hour period so what I do is that I give this to Chloe first before I feed her. I do this with every other bottle and I will not use this at night probably only in the day time. Her major problem is that she is really gassy so I really hope this product works.

This was recommended by a lot of my friends and by a pediatric doctor.....

I will do a Review on this product very soon!

Love,
CES <3
